Teams follow USSSA age guidelines. The standard cutoff is May 1. A player's playing age is generally the age they are on May 1 of that season. USSSA also has grade exceptions that can

Player fees vary by team and are determined by each team’s specific needs and season plans. Fees may be based on the number of tournaments, league or tournament entry fees, uniforms, equipment needs, facility or practice costs, and other team-related expenses. Coaches will communicate the anticipated player fee and what it covers prior to the start of the season.
